I have a good doctor, but it's a big benefit to be able to hear from someone who has experienced dialysis first hand. You hear so many "horror stories" it's hard to get an accurate idea of what to really expect. Thanks.

I've sat here at my computer for at least 2 hours reading through your story... riviting... You seem to have gone through an awful lot with a lot of heartache... I started dialysis when I was 12, about 14 years ago, and have had 2 transplants which have failed.. chronic rejection... I've also had cataract surgery in my left eye.. I was 23 at the time, so it was all prednisone.. I have another in my right eye, but I've decided not to have it removed.. I had the general instead of the local when I had it done, though.. don't think I could watch what the doctor was doing.... I love your site.. you obviously put a lot of work into it... I had one like it at one time, but it was shut down when the company I got the web space from with bankrupt.. I never bothered rebuilding.... I know.. I'm longwinded... ;)

I found your Website by accident through a message board. I had PKD. bilateral nephrectomy, dialysis, transplantation (16 years) and am now on dialysis again. I am presently 70 years old. I wish your website had been available to me at an earlier time but at least it is available now to those just starting the grind. I have many vascular problems and it's refreshing to read about someone who has survived the system which is the name of the game. Hope your third transplant is holding up okay. You deserve a break. Thanks again for a very informative website.

I just came upon your web page by accident, although I am a firm believer that sometimes there are no accidents. I also have PKD. I've been on home dialysis for a year now, my brother and sister have successful transplants, so far... You have been a great inspiration and I am looking forward to reading more. God Bless and continued health.

You have been through so much. I hope that I can be as brave if and when I get tranplanted. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing with us, Gil. Every time I talk with patients like you or read reports like yours, I realize how blessed I am. I am still using my cadaver transplant that was installed in August 1986. Creatinine has been a steady 1.2 the whole time. There has never been a rejection; my doctor once told me I was a "text book" case. You, on the other hand, are a text book case for what can go wrong! I wish for you the best...YOU DESERVE IT! Thanks again.

Dear Gil: I hope this note finds you doing well. I was in reading about your ordeal with CMV as my sister is facing whether to take her husbands kidney as it is positive, and she is negative. You must be working very hard these days!! Hope to hear from you soon! Love and hugs, Cathy

Hi Gil, just stumbled on your site looking at http://groups.msn.com/EuroPKDFriends/privatehomepages.msnw. The information on your site is amazing and very clear and understandeble, many thanks. I'll be visiting your site quite often since I've still a lot to learn about PKD.

Gil, Thank you for all your great info. My husband started dialysis in May 2003. He has a tough time keeping the fluid low so there won't be much to take of. I don't know how he does it.
God Bless YOU
